Small spaces, big ideas: fitting out 45 m² without shrinking them

The classic mistake is to multiply low storage. You gain storage volume and lose the perception of space.

Our seven principles

• One horizon line. Align the top of all doors, cupboards and window heads. The eye reads a continuous room.
• Continuous flooring. One finish, from entrance to bedroom. A change of material cuts the space in two.
• Store high. The volume between 2.10 m and the ceiling is almost always wasted.
• Sliding doors. A swing door takes up 0.9 m² of unusable floor.
• One piece, several functions. A storage bench that doubles as a headboard beats three separate items.
• The well-placed mirror. Facing a window, never a blank wall.
• Light the corners. A dark corner shrinks a room more surely than a partition.

The real luxury

In a small space, luxury is not marble: it is emptiness. Always keep one wall entirely free. That is what lets everything else breathe.
